Coin Macros

Which is better?

The usual stack o' coins shot?

Or some experimental (risky) lighting shots?

With value of coin?

Closer macro of face only?

Choosing which to enter in a local contest to hopefully snag me a year's subscription of a local photo magazine!

The last two are very dark and lack detail.
I'd go with the first. Of course, the first picture can fool people into thinking you shot a primitive battery, instead of some coins.

The second one is almost impossible to see.

yes, unfortunately they are very dark (those last two) in case of the second, I can hardly figure out what shall I be looking at...
first one is decent, though not my style of photraphy. But I'd compose it slightly differently and I'd let more light in too..
