I agree.

Also, the suggestion about keeping the hand out of the pocket is a good one. I know when I'm being photographed, I don't know what to do with my hands.

Maybe if they insist on the hand sliding in the pocket make them put the thumbs in and rest of hand out? Would that be preferable to hands on pockets? Even though i don't think I'll be seeing much of that here in P.R. with the nice weather in here.
