A square crop of the two focused flowers might be something cool to try out!

All I can say is I wish I had taken it...simple direct uncomplicated composition that says what it wants to say and no more.
Sometimes less is more.

Thanks, yes the idea was simplicity, I wanted to capture the beauty of the flowers, not to add an artistic edge to it. I actually wanted the back 2 flowers to be even more subdued - just for a bit of depth, but since their colour changed as a result of them getting less light, it worked out nicely.

Thanks, yes I tried that, looks very nice as well, but creates a different "feel" than what I had planned for the image. I think the suggested crop would look awesome on a white background.

BTW - LOVE your flikr page - I am privileged for you to look and comment on my pictures
