Lens: DA70 Limited Camera: k5ii-s Photo Location: North Florida ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F3.5

Love this image. I would very much like some feed back. I don't usually shoot animals so any tips on how to make shots like this better would be much appreciated
Thanks!

She's a young muddy girl…

What was your focus? The right side (left eye) seems more in focus than left.

Overall, it seems a case of not close enough or not back far enough to give story or something to me.

Now that you mention it I should have used a longer lens from a further distance. The nearest eye was my focus point like a portrait.

Which was the nearest eye? As we see it.

When I took the image I thought the left eye was the closest one. Now that I'm looking at it again they look almost even to me.

As in the the eye on the right side of the photograph? If so, that seems the sharpest to me as well.

If so, it'd seem a profile-like image would come off better then. Especially with some mouth action or you're so close you see something in her eyes.
