Thank you for posting.

The shot appeared to have been heavily PP and the sand to be overly orange. Correct ?

I increased saturation of yellow by +16 and Yellow by +12.

As I did not use a polariser on my lens I also used a graduated filter to increase the blues and greens.

The over-saturation doesn't do it for me. The barrel distortion is hurting my brain too; I'd correct it

Zero Barrel Distortion and Au-Natural

Saturation dialed to Zero

I should have used the Polariser and ND filter. Would have got better results. Lesson learned - thou shalt not be lazy........and expect pp to give you what you really wanted.

For my own taste, I prefer the first one; barrel distortion and heavy saturation of colour included. Still, I should have used the ND filter and polariser. Lesson learned.

You know what I'd love to see in this photo... some footprints leading from the bags to the waterline. You could even do them yourself and then go back (staying out of frame) to take the shot. You could get them in a nice curve or S shape to add some midground interest?

Much prefer the second re: colours and correction.

The footprints are between the bag and the people in the water.

I do see what you mean however about a c or s curve towards the centre of the frame.

cheers

Ok, I see them when pointed out. I guess that means they're not as visible as I was thinking in my own mind. Some really deep footprints with shadow detail in them. Ideally curving into the main body of the photo and then back again towards the people. All a bit contrived, but many good photos are (but perhaps don't seem it).

Obviously taking the photo closer to the golden hours could produce more drama, but then the beach might be a bit emptier - take your own bags and models!

Plenty of good ingredients there though - loads to play with...
