Perth City Skyline
Lens: Sigma 28-80mm Macro Camera: Pentax K20d Photo Location: Perth ISO: 100 Aperture: F3.5

Hi All,

Just bought a second hand Sigma 28-80mm and went for a walk to try it out.

Thiswas taken a f3.5 but it seems a bit soft to me. What do you think?

Thanks for looking and your comments.

I think the architecture pictured and those fantastic cloud formations works really really well. The framing and composition wise it is a nice attempt too ! What I would improve is : 1) brighten up the shadows which would make the details of those buildings more distinctive. And of course I would tune down the processing - the image looks way over-processed to me. Ah and I would probably clone out that tiny branch - too little to make any difference and too much of a distraction to my eye. All of the above please take as only my subjective impressions - no more no less than that

Hi and Thanks for your comments Mannax.

I do agree that it does look over processed, and with all honesty it probably is . I really need to learn how to use photoshop better

Took the liberty of making the changes that were suggested by manntax. Used photoshop shadow and highlights tool and clone stamp tool.

Can take it down if I've caused offense. Interesting image...

I think the image is still way overprocessed - the shadows has been lifted a bit too much at places - and as you can see in some places there is this greyish color visible - which measn there was not enough detail there so it should have been less brightened there.

I suggest you upload an original file - a jpg will be ok - and others could possible try to attempt and process it for you so you'd have a chance to see an alternative to what your usual processing seem to be.

Cloned out branch does work much better to me.
