Different Looks of the Same Building
Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Michigan Law School

Any thoughts on composition and the use of color? Goal was trying to create two different looks of the same building using two different (but harmonizing) color pallets. Would these look better in B/W?

In my non-professional opinion, I love black and white, but I don't think anything in these images would pop if done in black and white, I love the color in the second image, stunning building!

Chesebert, I like both photos, especially the low-light exposure of the entrance.

I like the mood the sepia-like tones set in the first photo, but the building is too obscured by trees.

Can you re-shoot to include more of the building?

Would they look better in black & white?

You won't really know until you try it.

Some buildings I photograph look great in black & white, others don't.

I like the first image, but the flare is a little too much. Pull the flare back so it doesn't dominate the image. The first image has more depth, character, warmth and seems more dynamic. The second image is flat, static, & cooler.

@ Winder: Thanks for the comments. I am not sure what I can do with the flare as that was part of the original capture.
