HDR - Too much?

We've all seen HDR that we like, and those that are "over cooked".

I generally prefer realistic images, but I added some HDR 'grunge" to this one and like the way it turned out.

What do you all think?

I think it suits the subject matter well. This coming from someone who also dislikes over-cooked HDR.

It doesn't look like HDR it all, has more of a bleach-bypass or a hand-colored look to it.

First thing I thought was that it has the look of one of these old black-and-white pictures that have been colorized later. For this picture, I think it is very adequate and gives it a nice touch.

Pretty good, but to me, the spruce on the right and shingles on the left are throwing me off. I hypothesize it is the shadowing.

I agree with the above. It looks like an under exposed B&W that was hand colored. It doesn't have the wild colors that most over done HDR images have.

Thanks for the comments

Thanks for the comments, all. It was an HDR, processed in NIK HDR Efex Pro. I did select a preset that created the bleached look.

I thought that enhanced the aged look of the subject.

From an over-cooked HDR standpoint I don't have any issues with this. The edge sharpening and contrast boost is a bit excessive though, for my tastes here. That, I believe, is what is causing the illustrative/posterized look in the shack and background trees. The foreground of the truck and the windshield are rendered really, really well.

I like it. The processing fits the age of the truck IMO. Reminds me of something that I would see in my dad's old scrapbook.

It works - and I generally dislike over-cooked HDRs. (I prefer my HDRing on the more subtle side).
