The Giants Wake Up...

Hello,

Excuse me but i'm very bad in english. The title in french is "l'éveil des géants", i hope it's good translation !!!

I shoot it there is 2 month ago near my village in the morning time (K10D + 18/55 of kit).

There's not much to criticise in this photo, the timing was perfect to capture the shadows and avoid too much flare from the sun.
The sky is a bit empty so I hope you will go back when there is some interesting cloud, for an even better shot.

It's as good as perfect, nice light, great composition, perfect exposure!

As for the photo, like Ole says...I think it's a great shot.

The scenery is great, do you live in heaven or something. OK, OK, it might not be heaven but if you got some wine and bread, it's the next best thing.

) and i not leave in the heaven (not yet !!!) but just at 30 kms (+- 18,5 milles) from Paris and 20 from Versailles in the dpt of Yvelines.

I really like this shot. Someone suggested a cloud filled sky might be an improvement but I think it would be a distraction. It is the simple blue sky that creates just enough balance to allow the trees and their cast shadows to remain the main feature, no distractions. The back light from the rising sun is definately the cherry on top.

As for the translation, who cares, what matters is the picture and that's great

I actually like it without cloud, it is clean and has the flow line from the trees, but I guess it is just a personal taste

I agree - a very nice shot.

Just out of curiosity, how did you decide on your settings to assure such a "perfect" exposure? Did you meter on the sky? Take the camera meter reading as is, or tweak it up or down? Shot manual, or AV priority.....
