PP1 and PP3. Good (but not excessive) sharpness is one of the rules of landscape photography. But we must remember that there are exceptions to any rule

Between the colors ones, I prefer the first. In both the bnw I don't like how the clouds look like.

Hi guys,

I've done some PP on a shot I made last weekend but really have a hard time figuring out which one looks best. I just can't make my mind... So, I turn to you: if you had to choose only one of the following four, which one will be ?

Thanks!

PP 1:

PP 2:

PP 3:

PP 4:
I see everyone likes the first. Possibly because there's more contrast and shadows in the clouds. But honestly, I'm going to go with the second one. I don't think I would get bored or oversaturated with that image if it were on my wall.

Thanks! And #2 also the one hanging on my wall right now!

Easily #2 for me, but I prefer #5, the re-processed version.

It amazes me how after reading the comments and going back to the pics how I changed. Well not really but I have new insight on why I liked them. #1 because the subject, the tree stands out, yet #2 is more natural. #3 I still see as too PP and now #4 is my fav because that tree stands out and is so with the background.
One of my best pics ever was by accident. I printed a pic of a lone tree and all the ink ran out except blue. Against the winter snow this had a stunning effect. I ended up selling this reject in Boston. Turns out it had an effect on more than me.

I still find it difficult sometimes to choose to do BW or not. I think it just comes with experience and maybe spending a lot of time on somewhere like 500px looking at pictures. If I had to make a choice I'd go with PP2.
