It doesn't look like HDR, which is a good think in my book. However, HDR in a scene with elements that move is going to be difficult and introduce some blur. The ability to pull shadow detail from the K5 is so good that I don't really think HDR was necessary here. The revised version is too harsh for me, it looks too unnatural and at odds with the serenity of a gentle sunset. It just pulls the the towards the really bright sea. I'd work with a single exposure here and try to be more faithful to the original scene.

Yeah. This sensor has an insane amount of latitude. For example, here is a shot I took yesterday:

Never fails to impress me either, it's a bit like magic. I'm sure the first scene will take the treatment of the last.
