A red sunrise
Lens: dfa 25mm Camera: 645Z Photo Location: Washington State ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1s Aperture: F16

This is a photo of Mt Shuksan and Picture Lake. It was taken two days ago. I used Color Effex Pro 4 to edit the raw image. Is it over processed? Any suggestions to improve this image? Thank you for your thoughts.

Lovely picture, but I don't like the bush in foreground. You should have waded out in the water to get in front of the bush. ha ha

I also think that it is a bit overprocessed. I would like to see the original as well!
On the other hand, I actually like the bush in the foreground. Do you maybe have another photo, taken from 2-3 feet to the right and more aimed to the left? So that the bush and the mountain peak go into the lower left and upper right corner.
But overall, I like the photo!

I too say it is over processed. The sky could be toned downed a bit and make it be more natural.

Tone down the sky a bit and it's perfect. I like the bush. It adds perspective to the image.

Would like to see unprocessed version, so can't say if it's overprocessed or not. I like the framing though, and what a beautiful location!

Beautiful image.
It's just a bit over processed, and without the bush I bet it would have looked even better.

The mountain look a little like it was photoshop-ed in from a different picture due to the processing in my opinion. Similarly the shadows on water around the bush look strange. Is it from a single capture or did you use HDR?

A red sunrise

Below are three photos that you several commentators have asked. The first is the original photo that I minimally edited in Lightroom. The second is the same photo but the bush is on the right side. The last is a more toned down image based on your suggestions. At this time of the year, the lake is frozen over. As a result, the reflection is not so good. I included the bush to give depth to the image. I thought the fallen leaves at the base of the bush provided some color to the surrounding snow. Placing the bush on the right side was not aesthetically pleasing to my eyes. Most of the color in the sky is on the right side of the photo. Having the bush on the right side made the image seems unbalanced. Thank you for your interest in my image.

I agree that the bush adds depth to the photograph.I'd be proud of that photo. Nice!

I'll be the black sheep ... I don't think the LR edited version is over processed, the first post is a bit hot though. It looks like a good capture of a fiery sunset.

It would help if the tree reflections were perspective corrected to be vertical. It's a difficult shot to expose well, so good job. I also reckon it would look brilliant printed in hard copy, (bush on the left.)

To me the last image (third one) of the second processing run looks best and more natural than the original processing - great capture whichever processing you finally choose.
