Virginia at its Finest
Lens: Sigma 18-35 f1.8 Camera: Pentax P-3 Photo Location: Bluemont, VA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F5.6

Took a ride today along Snickersville Turnpike and ended up at Bluemont Vineyard - one of the few area wineries that I have not yet graced with my presence. Snapped this off of their porch at ~950ft ASL. View is looking Northeast towards Washington. I am absolutely blown away with the K-3 and Sigma combination - simply incredible.

Any C&C is appreciated.

Ah you had wispy clouds that day... my fav for landscapes!

And there is a lot of front to back depth on the ground, but the fore-to-mid ground aren't all that interesting to look at for me.. there isn't any place to where my eye is lead.

This image would probably a lot more interesting in the spring or summer...

It's tough to make it interesting, the flat light of early winter can't enliven the browns and faded greens, the sky is the brightest color there is.

Nice capture, though it is more picturesque and gorgeous in spring

I don't make it up to that part of the state often enough. I really want to explore the Potomac River valley from Winchester on down to Great Falls.

I really like the layers in the image. The sky is beautiful! Would love to see it in the fall!

Maybe crop the asphalt off the bottom? Keeping mostly natural elements and the vines become a focal area.
