I'm looking for a little insight from you post-processing gurus. I've been playing around with a K135 2.5 using a close-up lens (Canon 500d). Here's a shot from this afternoon:
As you can see, there's quite a bit of banding/posterization in the OOF areas of the frame, and I'm curious why that's the case. Is it a matter of using the close-up attachment on a legacy lens? Perhaps choosing too wide of an aperture? I don't think I've gotten too wild-and-wooly with the processing, but the Flickr algorithms do seem to exacerbate the issue.
Any thoughts appreciated!
