Flowers in water
ISO: 50

I thought it may be interesting, but it looks like a mess to me, and nothing really interesting to save. What do you think?

May I suggest cropping the bottom photo a bit to make it look more balanced.

It looks better, thanks. I'm terrible with crops.

Another idea that occurs to me is increase the contrast. I mean drop the luminance of the already black leaves to a darker shade and increase the saturation & luminance of the yellow flowers to make them "glow". That could be an interesting idea to follow.

I like to look at the images posted in this section of the forum but don't feel qualified to comment on them usually. I keep coming back to this one though because there is something in it that keeps drawing me in. I don't care much for the crop as it makes it too tight. The flowers, though dying have an ageless feel. Very nice.

Yep, it was my mood when I took it. Everything beautiful ends sooner or later...
I don't dare to express my feelings or visions yet, just take pictures, and that's all. Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting my time not concentrating on expressions only.
Kind of thinking what to do with this hobby beyond the stress relief. I don't know yet.

I have played with luminance and contrast. Glowing flowers are too optimistic

I did some reworking on the curves and color. Was a quick 'n dirty job and purposefully exaggerated, but tries to illustrate my visualization of the image.

I'm generally bad at color pictures and these are of course a matter of taste etc. etc.. you know the drill.

Well I like this kind of stuff. Especially the first one, since the second photo is not as balanced. I like the yellow "selective colour", order in chaos, beautiful yellow roses that have fallen and are wilting (beauty and decay).. Good photos. The second one could be improved by cropping, but it would end up looking very much like the first one. I'd say keep the first one.
