Pretty nice image voy-tech. I think you need to straigthen a little bit the horizon and I would cut the down part of the picture that it is not reflecting and add a little bit of contrast, IMHO. Just my two cents ...

Thanks @Jorgario - the horizon is straight - I guess the reflection might make it seem like it's skewed but in reality it's even. I'll try to add some contrast and see how it feels but the problem is I'm loosing detail on the haystack rock if I boost contrast too high.

Maybe it is that bottom that makes me feel bad about the horizon ... You're right but I will definitely cut that bottom ... Cheers.

I like it - my only critique to your edit would be the oversaturation of the sky which looks too intense to me, but the boosted yellows/reds in the clouds look good - I'm thinking about giving Color Efex Pro a try so I might give this image a try run with some additional color processing.

I like the 2nd crop much better. I think I would also try taking out a little less than half of the sky that shows blue. I don't mind the level of blue in the sky. I've lived in Oregon my whole life and that is a color that occurs naturally.

I prefer the second crop also.
But are you even allowed to shoot the Canon Beach with a Pentax?

:-)

OR Resident here, its Cannon Beach so Pentaxes are totally allowed! And I also prefer the 2nd crop, but I like the color from the first photo better. The blues are too deep in my opinion on pic 2.

I'd try raise shadow a little bit more, the blue color is great on the first post, the yellow/orange on the second photo is a nice complement, a little more clarity on the rock and the water ^^ just my personal suggestion
