Flame Art
Lens: Samsung 100mm macro Camera: k5iis ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/8000s Aperture: F8

Iv kind of stumbled across this concept, through a number of factors, not least the wet weather over here.
They are shots of matches at the point of ignition, some mirrored and some not.
Any thoughts or cc are welcome

I can't see any reason for posting your work here. What critique?
They are all great.

Overall great. I prefer the shots without mirroring. The natural flame is stunning as seen in the first shot. Also, I'm undecided if I like the match head in the shot or not. Love the work. I'm going to follow you on flickr to see what you come up with next.

Cool photos! I really like the ones where you can see that it's a match, like on photos 4, 5 and 7.

How do you ignite the matches? Of course I know how to ignite a match, but how do you focus so fast on the head of the match? Or you keep it stationary, pre-focus, and then ignite it somehow?

Hi, I have posted a how too some where on here, basically the match is clamped, camera on tripod, manual focus, and a lighter under the match, trigger the burst mode just before ignition. Have fun and post your results.

I love it! Very cool, thanks for sharing. Is it just me or do these images remind you of the ink blot test? How I see em':

3. Falling comet
4. Tulip
5. Butterfly
6. Orchid
7. Male reproductive organ
8. Female reproductive organ

Any other interpretations?
