My first go at artificial light...
Lens: 55-300 Camera: K-5 II Photo Location: Toronto ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/180s

...and also working with real models, posing real people.
I've learned a lot in those few hours.
Was really focussing on getting short lighting while trying to get their 'best side'. It's easier to see that some faces are much more forgiving and will look good no matter how you light, or shoot; others one has to light properly and shoot from the right angles, if one wants to make them look their best.
The one thing always on the back my mind was trying to capture the essence of the person in front of the camera... I'll let you decide if I got it...
CC are greatly appreciated!

I like how you presented the series, the "least" good one first, and gradually working to your best shot.

Thanks.
Looks like I'm 'seeing' it right. Funny, my wife doesn't see them that way...

And she was the one with no experience, and actually quite shy... Good to practice my future 'bride shots'...

Hello there I do portraits for some time, and as for first time with artificial lights, you did nice work I like the middle ones with that curly black hair lady. I would personaly retouch that loos hairs from around her eyes a little.

Hello, and thanks. It was a first at both artificial lighting and posing. These shots landed me a second shooter position for a wedding photographer recently
