Stone Hut
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm Camera: K-7 Photo Location: Geehi, New South Wales

A stone hut built near the junction of the Geehi and Swampy Plains Rivers.

Converted to black and white with sepia applied. I am undecided on the level of sepia. I would be interested in opinions. Is it too dark or dense?

A friend of mine built a replica of this hut on his property and I would like to present him with this photo of the original.

Sepia should only bond to the silver, so should be completely white in the clouds and other light parts. How are you applying it?

Thanks for your advice. I am using software to add the sepia toning. I am processing in Photoshop Elements using a Topaz plugin. I take the point that this is too heavy. Those clouds are definitely too dark I will try to lighten it

I don't know what others prefer but I like to make it stick only to the dark parts, as in theory it would with the original process.

Dr Forbes Hut?

I find it a little on the dark side myself.

Thanks for your advice. I will lighten it up and post a new example shortly.

Yes Dr Forbes Hut, a magical part of the world. I have been going there with a group of mates for the last couple of years in November. Consensus is that it is too dark. Thanks for your response.

A lighter version. A definite improvement, I am still not 100% satisfied but on the right track. Thanks for the replies much appreciated.
