Strike Gundam + IWSP
Lens: 16-50 f2.8 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: My product lighting box ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F8

Hi, this is my first time shooting a "figurine toy". Shot this a few days ago and post processed to my liking, finished today.

Here is the original, I did shot in RAW. So all I did was converting it to JPEG with the pic below.

Your PP really makes it a much more interesting shot. I like the prominent red. I do find the head of the toy to be a bit busy. But you have a great pose and overall it is a dramatic but fun image. I like it.

Nice and clean

I would stop down more or stack a couple of images to get a DoF that covers the entire figurine. Here the tip of the gun barrel is out of focus, and is a visual clue that this is a small toy.

I'm not a fan of the 'floating' look, that is no shadows to ground the figure, or even displaced back a bit to give the illusion of flying. But this is really personal preference.

Great job!

I think you would have achieved the same result with a flash, out of curiosity, why did you vignette the corners of the pictures?

However...I prefer the original (1979) Gundam and the Zaku. :P

Looks really great! I couldn't really find a fault, but BrianR has a point - adding a shadow or something might make the photo seem more "normal", because right now it almost looks like good CGI. I know that for product photos you usually don't want shadow, but is this a typical product photo?
The other thing might be DoF - the front of the weapon is blurry. You can try experimenting with higher aperture, if the image keeps enough sharpness, but gives you a little more DoF. With a good lens and digital sharpening, you should be able to even go up to f14, f16. Might not be as sharp as f8 (sweet spot), but photography is a balancing act, a bunch of compromises.
Anyway, good job, hope to see more!
