Originally posted by cantthink193 Took this shot of a three-masted ship in the distance from a cave on the coast. I wanted the get the impression of shifting sunbeams over the water and the ship in the image to prevent it being a two-zone image with nought else to offer. Another question would be: is this a landscape picture? Important purely as a discriminator as to whether I should consider it for a local competition round for 'landscapes'.
The ship is a bit little, but I've now looked at the image so much I don't know if that's an issue or not.
Full size on flickr - I do note that the takumar is as sharp as stated by everyone who told me it was very sharp: you can pick out individual ropes on the ship itself!
I like this photo very much. I have spent the last 15 minutes giving it the once over. All of the comments and suggestions here, I believe are right on the money. The only suggestion I would offer is to look around on some of the Internet auctions for a Takumar F 70~210mm lens. I have this lens and trust me, it is I believe just excessively awesome. They have some heft to them, but it is worth it to locate one. Great job, it really is one of the most interesting pics that I have seen in some time. Please get that telephoto lens, it has beautiful glass, coatings are incredible and I promise you will not regret it.
Regards,
Tonytee P.S. If you would like, I would be happy to forward some pics with the Takumar F Lens.
