You can edit the post to have it right reading, and it would make it easier for people to comment. Off hand, I think the crop might be better in a more traditional format (wider), and the color cast seems too blue/purple. Working with both might help bring out the compositional elements, I think there are bones there. Look at what needs to be there, and what does not.

Some sunset/rise rays on the stones would have been nice, Evan, but on a school trip you don't always get much choice as to where you'll be at those times! :-)

I think your horizon is listing to the right a little.

It's quite amazing that your landscape hasn't slipped right off your image.

A squirrel standing just right of center bottom was crushed by falling rocks. Don't be too alarmed, there are plenty more to take his place!

Regards!

Very intriguing. Taken during an earthquake, perhaps?

That's how it started here.....only a few dozen, then they started that multiplication thing and there are thousands. God bless you and good luck...you may need it!

It's a little hard to tell because I'm looking at the image sideways, but I assume that the rock towers are the focus of the image. Since they're the same material as the background, they don't really stand out. Either getting down to an angle so you had them above the horizon (which can be kind of difficult, based on surroundings), or waiting for/finding some kind of rim light to set them apart from the background would make it a lot stronger. Blue hour is pretty, but it makes this whole landscape pretty flat.
