Silver Falls, Number Two.
Lens: Nikon AF Nikkor 35~80 D lens Camera: Nikon N8008s Film SLR Photo Location: Silver Falls, Oregon ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F5.6

This is another shot of Silver Falls, Oregon. Approximately two years ago I had attended a class at the Portland, Oregon Museum of Fine Arts. Along the exhibits I spotted numerous photographs of Oregon taken by Ansel Adams. He had worked here for many years and produced some timeless and wonderful photographs. I did spot one of his photos of a waterfall in Central Oregon where he had the falls to the far left of center. At first it seemed odd, but the more I looked at it the more absorbed I was in his work. Nothing like taking a tip from one of the masters. I believe that Mr. Adams was saying that the falls is an integral part of the forest, not the main part. Sort of a teamwork perspective. So I thought I would give it a try. I hope you like it.

Thanks for looking.

Tony

I think the crop is a bit tight, and the image looks heavily resized, with a resulting lack of sharpness. However, I think you nailed the shutter speed. There is a good feeling of movement, but also of power, that is lost when using too long exposures.

Thank you for your helpful comments. Originally this was a color print that I had converted to digital. I lost sharpness then and also upon uploading. I attempted to increase sharpness, but it just didn't work because I ended up looking at a lot of noise.

Rgds,

Silver Falls II Adjusted.

Here is the shot again, but opened up the whole scene. Thanks for looking. Here again I just keep losing sharpness. I tried to sharpen, but the noise was way too loud.
