I prefer the HDR version, but the bottom part of the sky looks artificial with that patch of teal. Very nice shot otherwise!

I prefer #1. The HDR effect is subtle.

There's a dark spots in the clouds near the center. There's also a set of parallel clouds from a plane at the left side. That stuff can be cleaned up with a brush in Light room or other software.

The natural shot is my preference. The HDR has a psychedelic quality. Which is OK artistically... except I find the moon-lit tree colouration in the bottom right corner at odds with the rest.

I like the color of the stone wall on the right better with the natural version. Both are great though.

Great shot. Inspiration point, Tunnel view. The HDR is just how I remember it. But I have only been to that spot about 30 times.

Natural ... as always.
Not that the HDR is not done with taste, i.e.: not overly done, but I always prefer untouched images.

Thank you all. I re-edited the natural image with lightroom to achieve a subtle HDR look. I think this is somewhere midway between the HDR and natural image.

"Au naturel" (2nd image) for me of course, but then I'm a bit of a purist.

3rd version looks best. A little too much sky since it has no cloud interest.
Nice shot. nice spot.

Thank you Mike. I have never thought of cropping before but the more critique I receive from this forum I realize that it is not too difficult to change the composition in post.

Tough light! It might be like drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa, but with the heavy shadows around El Capitan I'd go with a square crop on Version #2: Half Dome on the left margin, with the right being defined by Cathedral Rocks (cropping the sapling in the foreground and Leaning Tower.) I'd then spend some time on Sentinel Rock, trying to get it to provide a stronger backdrop to the falls.
