Please critique
Lens: 50-200 Camera: K-50 Photo Location: Brooklyn, NY ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/800s Aperture: F8

I shot this across someones front yard. Normally I blur the background to make the image pop. The only corrections I've done to this photo is crop and stamp out a twig in the lower right hand corner. I took 5 or 6 more shots of the same flowers that morning but they were too over exposed

Lovely color composition, perfect exposure and good detail in the drops on the petals.

Two suggested areas for improvement:
1) The top down angle gives it a flat look. Bringing camera lower could have made the drops more prominent.
2) The focus looks a bit off with the sharper areas just below the petals. There seems more detail in the left leaf than the central parts of the flower, for example.

Thank you...I wear glasses and I've been having issues with focus. I really appreciate your feedback

I agree with this.

Either pivoting from the bottom or bottom and a side would have given more interest to the scene. Right now it looks like a pretty snapshot.. imo.

I think it is fine to zoom in further and get the details of the flower even if that means clipping off the ends of the petals..

I'd play with angles and placement.

Is this what you mean? I thought the color looked washed out on this one

Yes but now you have the flower facing to the left with a lot of negative space on the right. In general, I try to keep the negative space on the side of which the subject is facing. Otherwise I like the position of your flower subject!

1/800th, f8 and ISO 800 doesn't seem like the right combination. If the lighting was bright enough for that, it should have been plenty bright for ISO 100 with f8, with plenty of scope to drop the shutter speed to offset. Try Av with fixed ISO.
