I like this portrait! Beautiful and genuine! Maybe I would prefer her hand behind her neck or in her hair (because its quite big!), but OTOH I might prefer it this way if I see those pics side by side. Anyway, very good job!

Good job, on the small crop I think you have a bit front focusing and the eyes are out of focus. @ f 4 the eyes should be tack sharp. Having said that, this could be just me and the small crop provided . Nice framing and composition.

Well, it is well focused on her eyes. K-5 is quite random with AF performance which I really don't like.

I think the crop is too tight. She feels confined.

As others have said. Eyes need to be a little sharper and maybe a little brighter. Crop is a little tight. Light is a little flat. A reflector might help a little. Over all its a good image. It just needs a little bit here and a little bit there to really standout.

Hi

Since you have decided for a tight crop I would go even tighter and cut down a bit of the hair to get a bit of balance back.
This way the crop is over all consistent.

Cheers

Yes - but they wouldn't be acceptable on a family forum like this....

Well, there are no restrictions to post any images unless you post nude images. What makes Photo critique section to be family forum?

This photo has an intention. I find it a little casual even if it was posed.
You got it.l
Lovely.

She's beautiful and the photo has a 60's vibe to it. I think it's a success.

It could have done with a little bit more light on the face, especially the eyes. Did you have a reflector under the camera, it might have helped.

A good natural pose, the slightly arched eyebrow implies that you are in trouble.....

Well done

Is that really a K-5 thing? I have had times my shots aren't as in focus as I like, which is one reason I prefer a prime lens for shooting. I usually tend to keep my aperture around f/4.0 because going any wider tends to be a crap shoot for me, but I figured I need to calibrate my lenses so I can shoot at the wider apertures?? Usually, I can get tack sharp eyes with I use my 50 mm prime lens with my K5 though. I tend to use the center point focus for almost everything and do my composing in post. Now I guess I'll have to google about the K5's AF performance because I wasn't aware of that!
