After purchasing a DA 50 1:1.8 lens and reading the article on how to set the "Green" button on my K500 to set the camera for use with Manual lenses in Manual Mode.
I decided to take the attached shots to compare the results with the setting recommended by the software for my SMC Pentax-M 1:2 at an F stop setting of 5.6 and using the same settings with the DA 50 in Manual, AV & TAV Modes. In order the get as close a comparison as possible I kept the ISO setting for all shots at 100 in all modes
In my opinion the recommended software setting for the shutter speed of 1/15th of a second for the manual lens gives a good exposure. Where as the same settings on the DA lens may be off slightly causing a slight over exposure In Manual and TAV Modes and in AV Mode at F 5.6 on the DA Lens gives a slight under exposure
What do you think?
Shot 1 SMC Pentax-M 50 Manual Mode F 5.6 (Green Button Setting) 1/15th sec ISO 100
Shot 2 DA 50 Manual Mode F 5.6 1/15th Sec ISO 100
Shot 3 DA 50 AV Mode F 5.6 Shutter Speed - Auto ISO 100
Shot 4 DA 50 TAV Mode F 5.6 1/15th Sec ISO Manual ISO 100
