The symmetry and colors work well, IMO. However, I find the lower-right corner to be distracting.

Adam,

Thank you for your feedback. I agree with your assessment of the bottom right corner, but I'm still a greenhorn regarding Lightroom and haven't figured out how to clean it up yet. I'll keep working on it. Thanks again.

Thank you!

You should definitely head that way if you can. My wife and I made our way over there on our honeymoon and it was well worth the drive. We didn't visit the winery due to time constraints, although it was included in our admission. I highly recommend the audio tour and grabbing a bite at the stable restaurant on property.

Have a great day!

Nice shot. I took a picture from about that exact spot Adams was quickly told I wasn't allowed to take pictures. I guess I was their nine dollar an hour employee with a Canon rebel out of a job...

Curious. I was there last month and was told photos were allowed sans flash.

Did they give you trouble anywhere else on the estate?

Nope. Just inside was off limits. Outside was fair game. It was a real shame, because as your photo demonstrates there are some lovely opportunities there.

I suppose their policy changed a little in two years, that's good news for photographers, and a smart idea for the Biltmore. Traveler's recommendations on sites like TripAdvisor are influential, and even more so when accompanied by a few good photos. Once people see a shot on a website like the OP has posted here, they are more likely to want to see it in person.

I completely understand the restriction on flash photography and commercial photography. I've even been to places outside the US where they charge a small fee for bringing in your own camera, and I pay it gladly, especially if it's a once in a lifetime visit.
