Moment of Zen
Lens: Lester Dine 105mm Camera: k-5 IIs ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/80s Aperture: F9

This photo reminds me of some Japanese or Chinese lithograph and the reeds look like hieroglyphs... I really like this photo, but I'm curious what others think of it in terms of technical quality etc.

It is very much like the Chinese/Japanese painted screen style. I like it. The reeds are floating in the sky.

Well done.
It's the kind of shot I'm always trying to capture but always failing at.

Very well composed and exposed. Layering of color and shape of reflections is perfect. Could it have been shot at a lower ISO so you could make a larger print with less noise?

Thanks! Well I had to keep those reeds in focus so I needed that f9, and longer exposure would blur the water. But I think that the noise is quite ok even for larger print. K5IIs handles noise quite well imho.

Plenty to explore in this image, subtle colourations, it's a winner for me.

This is one of these pictures that you can look at for a long time - and feel your heartbeat getting slower and your thoughts blow away. It is nice.
