Needs a tighter crop.

Close in on one aspect or detail that makes the car recognisable.......

I agree with Fritz a tighter crop and if not at least tight enough to lose the top left grass and other red car. I could see a crop arond the headlight and past the tire working for this. Maybe like this

Cropped and levels and sharpened. I will remove if you want just say the word.

nice advice on the crop it makes a difference. Also, you might want to edit the color/white balance. I find it helpful to do this as the real color of the car was probably a bit redder and brighter. Looks like Pat did this. Youll notice the reflection off the bumper makes the sky actually look bluer with the clouds a bit whiter.

Agreed. If you want to take photo of the parts, don't be afraid to be brutal in your surgical exision of the rest of the vehicle.

When you're just walking around and you see a car, that is the exact (or very near) angle you see it from. That's the angle you see the whole world from: 5-6 feet up. Getting an overhead view, or a bug's eye view will give you a whole new perspective on the world.

Also, don't center it. Usually when I try to compose something, I find that, when in doubt, use the rule of thirds. Then check the LCD and try different compositions. Try putting that headlight in the bottom left or top left third next time you shoot a car. I find that it usually gives a very intimidating look.

As for things you can still fix, the whole picture is slightly dark, and it needs contrast.

Five-six feet up=bad.
Rule of thirds=good, usually.
Contrast=good in today's world, but don't overdo it!

Keep shooting

Great car to start with recognizable details! Citroën DS and his cornering headlights... And that's just one of few special details on it!
