springtime pattern against sky
Lens: HD DA 40mm Camera: K-S1 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F2.8

My first submission here

I feel like this shot lacks focus or a clear subject, but the colors and pattern stood out. Not sure if this is a keeper or a throw-away. Thoughts welcome!

SOOC JPEG, minor edits in LR (defringe)

I think there's a lot of potential with the colors here, but overall the composition is too busy- no single spot really draws the eye.

One of the things I am struggling with is picking out interesting / good compositions. I's almost like nothing around me feels really that interesting and I'm pulling teeth to find something, anything, to make the subject of a photograph.

You have too much in your picture. Why not crop it to the left and keep that part. That's where the flowers/leafs are closest.

I agree with Adam, it helps for the picture to have a subject or main theme.
