Thanks for the C&C. I decided not to enter the Woman at Sunset nor the one taken at the abandoned water park (what you might think of the as the sailboat). Of the ones I did submit, the pilings (#9 was chosen, as was #1 the bridge). None of the black and white ones were chosen either. The tiger cub and the Star trails over Pyramid lake were the other two chosen.
Thanks for letting us know. Shows that I, as usual, have different tastes. :-) But like I said, all good photos. Good luck with the final judging!

Thanks. I liked that one also, but it wasn't chosen. How would you change the composition?

In my opinion, those flowers that appear unfocused on the bottom left corner are a little bit distracting and the main flower is slightly up from the center of the frame.
Your photos are amazing tho! Keep up with that good work

Thanks for the comments. I framed the image like that for two reasons, I thought the out of focus background flowers placed where they were provided a bit of visual balance to the larger main subject. I could be wrong there and maybe negative space would have been better. The second reason was the I just thought the composition was nice and I was fooling around with boekh at the time to see what my lenses gave me. Once I saw it i liked it pretty much as was.
