I can see why HDR is useful, I would prefer #2, but given the subject of the picture #3 is the nicest.

I'd go with No. 1, or no. 3, as the crop is better in this one. I also use Photomatix Pro and have a question: For HDR I have normally been using HDR Pro in PS from Lightroom, but have noticed recently that there are a lot artefacts and muddiness appearing in the darker areas of the final merge. Using the same set of photos I repeated the process in Photomatix and the result was perfect, and also much, much faster than in PS. Has anyone else had this problem using PS?

Pixel shift version best for me: tighter composition & looks crisper. I like HDR but sadly not your version, too soft.

HDR , because the photo just breathe , you can feel the "atmosphere" there ... good ideas for us ... just film photography can redent better ...
