I tried playing around with the image in B/W and it did not help. The problem is that all of the items that are interesting to look at are out of focus. The only in focus area is just a twig. The colors on the trimmed ends and the one bud like feature on the in focus twig draw the viewers eyes away from the focused area.

You need to pick a strong subject for the focused area and use the out of focus background to tell the story (trimming the bushes).

You need to get the stuff you want to present in focus. Is it those wery tiny things you are wanting to show us. Or was it something else?

Agree with both comments. Subject selection and focus on subject.
