50's style portraits
Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Oulu, Finland

After two mont's of searching I found period car. Models and the location was the easiest task.

I do love the colorful shots! And your lighting is excellent! But the tattoos and piercings somewhat cancel out the effort you have put into setting up the period with costumes and car. Maybe it was due to my conservative, middle-of-America upbringing, but I was born in 1952, and I don't recall seeing any tattooed women outside of the circus until long after most cars made in the 1950s had gone to the scrapyard.

I think you don't realize that 50s glamour pinup is one of the looks appropriated by the current generation of tattooed hipsters.

1980s Goth is another.

The photo is only in the style of the 1950s, as per the title.

I too remember when body art was only on sailors and the incarcerated, of course.

Love the colours, Drinkkeri!

A joke goes ... an Englishman is going through border security at Sydney Airport, and is asked: "Have you ever spent time in prison?" His reply was "I'm afraid I didn't know that was still a requirement here."

These are really nice. The third is my favorite, followed by the second, and then the first. The third gives off a totally different vibe than the others with the models smiling. Their expressions in the third one seem to suit the scene well.

The tattoos didn't bother me. I noticed them immediately, yes, but I think they also suit this scene.

If you ever go back, bring a period calendar and poster to cover the existing art.

I love the second one. In the first one, the cluttered background is too dark to be interesting, but light enough to be a distraction. I think you nailed it in the second one. The third one is also good, but I think I favor the landscape orientation for this one.

Nice work! Any chance on getting some period merchandise to authenticate it that much more?

This was not a commercial shoot so i could not invest in props. Some fans, worklights and paperware would have been nice but as I got the location for free only for a couple of hours on sunday there was only time for so much.

As for the modern posters and calendars on the wall there was a sense of not tampering with other people's work place
