Lens: M 50/1.4 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Leksand, Sweden (Lake Siljan) ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/250s

Very shallow lake edge, on this occasion also lower water levels than normal. Any thoughts welcome. I usually prefer low contrast when editing (partly in reaction to what seems to be a general contemporary preference for extreme contrast and saturated colours), but it's sometimes tricky to get it right, risking a dull or lifeless image instead.

Hmmmm. Maybe increase the contrast a little, and bump up the color saturation.

I would change WB to a sligtly warmer color.
I think an aspect ratio of 16:9 would work better for this image (croping from top or bottom depending on where you wanna lay you focus) and the horizon could use a -0.3 degree correction.

lol, original post "I usually prefer low contrast", first response above is "increase the contrast"

Low contrast works especially well with foggy/hazy scenes like this. This photo is a good candidate for B&W conversion.

IMO there's too much uninteresting foreground sand, especially on the left side. Experiment with a 2:1 crop.

I like the color and contrast. The composition doesn't grab me though.

Great composition. Nice but if the foreground were punched up it would be better

I agree with you, contrast is not always your friend. Certainly this photo is a good example of that. I like the composition you have done here, good color profile. Surprisingly sharp. Don't see aperture in EXIF data. What is it?

I would make it a wider aspect ratio. I feel like there's too much blank land in the bottom
