Sounds like the consensus is that I should probably defish it and from there it is lots of suggestions to try.

I like this one a lot. It is ok as it is but sometimes I just can't help myself and I do like to push the boundaries a bit. Slight boost in clarity, contrast saturation and levels. Add a vignette and crop. I don't see a lot of value in the trees on the right. Some folks may see my edits as a bit too much and I accept that. I do stuff like like to define the limits and see what is possible. Usually when I do something like this for my photos I leave it for a day or two, come back and back off my edits somewhat. Already I think I have overcooked it and second one is backed of in contrast and saturation. It is for me a process of trial and error.

I've done a similar edit to a different sunset and while it does seem to be getting into the over cooked category sometimes that works. It seems the general popolus likes things like sunsets on the over done side just like the overdone HDR. It had crossed my mind to do it that way.

Looking at it again, I think this really think a Lightroom graduated filter or two would work wonders a the sky and water could use different amounts of saturation and luminosity. One from the top down and one from the bottom up A great photo with tons of scope for PP.

Cheers

I love the colors and I don't mind the deep shadows. I wish it had more colors and less shadows though... just because the colors are so beautiful. Also, the horizon is a bit too tilted... otherwise I like it.

I will probably play some with it this weekend as it looks like there will be rain.
