A tree
Lens: da 40 Camera: k3ii ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F3.5

Saw this guy approaching the tree and had a feeling something interesting was about to happen. I had just enough time to walk around to get a side angle. This was not a posed photo and I didn't have much time, for example to get closer. I'm curious what you would have done differently, or if you have suggestions about processing/cropping.

I also have the color version, but I don't think it adds much since there's better contrast in bw

I think your instinct to make it B/W is spot on. Interesting photo.

The B&W version is better in my opinion too.
I would have liked a slight pan to the left to position the tree in the right half of the picture.
The empty space behind the guy is perfect, the icing of the cake would have been an otherwise empty park, but that would have been too much to ask

Very nice. You captured a "decisive moment".

Thanks, I was trying to keep those bushes out but this may work better on a second look. Including a different crop and the full capture

Maybe try to crop a little more, so the tree is even further to the right. But if that doesn't work I actually like the full capture too.

Edit: I just saw there is more room to the left, don't crop further just move the frame a little further

Edit 2: An advantage of the full capture is, that the people in the back arn't that prominent anymore

Great timing!
Definitely better in B&W, maybe would have tried to get my apepture a little lower to keep the bg a little softer.

I, too, like the b&w. And, I like the full capture version. Nice catch.
