Feeling blue
Lens: Adaptall 90 2.8 Camera: K-70

I like the color but it definitely showed the limitations of srgb.

Nice work!

I've tried to get shots of my lavender in bloom and the colors never look right...

Yes it does. Other than that maybe you could have rotated around it about 120 degrees clockwise because the one leaf coming up in front kid of sticks out to me.

I never really paid attention to the leaf until now. It's interesting that it goes through the focal plane and shows how narrow the depth of field is.

I do similar things with a lot of my photos. My mind just papers over them and I don't notice it until someone else points them out. I have really become a fan of taking a telephoto and using at close to the minimal focal distance of late. Really like the picture apart from that leaf though.

I prefer the image cropped to eliminate the leaves and concentrate on the blue petals.
Best wishes.

Question - is the rule of 3rd just a preference thing? I've tried to frame flower photos so they're not dead-on centered, even though I personally kind of like them like that. Like this shot, too. I just think it works. Curious what others might think.

I like it as is. Especially the strong and rich blue color.
