sunset with thunderclouds

Last summer we were camping on a site with a fine view towards the west. After a rainy day, there was quite a sunny afternoon but at sunset some thunderclouds came in. Before it would be raining cats and dogs, I was able to take some pictures of this impressive scene.

Wow - beautiful colours! I like them all but the last is my favourite.

Don't think I would have liked to camp out in that storm!

Pieter,

Stunning photos, all of them.

I, too, prefer the first.

Thanks for the nice comments The colors of these pictures often convince me I don't need any more expensive lenses in this range. I'm not sure if it really helps me, now I'm looking at expensive lenses in other ranges

Great photos. I like them all, but #3 is my fav. I would have said #1 but it's lacking foreground interest...my opinion.

I think #1 with a more image to the right. Im trying to appreciate the full colour and storm cloud but only get a fraction.

I like #3 the best. And, yeah...pics like these do make you think that maybe your money will be better spent improving other ranges, instead of replacing your kit lens. I'm curious about your tents. How many people were on this camping trip and how did you transport those things?

That first shot is excellent. Very interesting look and great colours. Nice series of shots.
