Sunday morning getting sun
Lens: SMC Pentax-DA 1:1.8 50mm Camera: Pentax K-3 Photo Location: womelsdorf, pa ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/8s Aperture: F22

Finally got a sunny day with no rain with my new k-3!

No photoshop right out of the camera. I do use a Red filter.

There no people anywhere at 9 am!

I did notice the battery is an almost low life, does the K-3 eat batteries? I have a back-up but I might have to get a third or fourth!!!!

I found that my K-3 used a lot of battery power when I first got it. Probably because I was browsing through the screens and settings. Live view uses a lot of power. I have the battery grip, which helps a lot.
Nice effect with the red filter BTW

yes, how you use the K 3 affects the battery life

Battery, Battery Door, and Tripod Mount
The K-3 takes the same D-LI90 rechargeable Lithium Ion battery as the K-5 series, the K-7 and 645D. The specifications rate the capacity to 720 images without flash usage (the K-5 was rated at 980). This is on the low side and we recommend that you carry a spare or get the battery grip. We suspect that the lower rating is the price we have to pay a faster processor and for having to process larger files.

I have the battery grip which allows a back up battery or even use of AA batteries

QuoteQuote:
Description:
The D-BG5 is a grip for use with the Pentax K-3 and K-3 II DSLRs. The grip is weather-sealed like the matching camera body.

The grip comes with two inserts: one that accepts 6 AA batteries, and one that accepts an additional D-LI90 rechargeable battery. The grip can also hold an SD card with the rechargeable battery insert

Controls on the grip:
-2 e-dials
-ISO and exposure compensation buttons
-"Green" button
-AF button
-AE-L button
