Not to my eye, but I'm curious if anyone else sees that.

The offcenter sidewalk means it intersects the bottom of the frame at different points, which could be making a balance problem...?
That's it, it's not a straight-line view down the path, which gives an impression of 'wonkiness'. The trees, person in distance and electrics box are all nice 'n' vertical.

OK. Less saturated, and at least I like this a lot better!

Did you mask the path? Or did you desaturate the whole image. The path seems flat now?

No masks. Wonder what would happen in desaturating only the green channel though...or tuning a mask just to the grass.

I do prefer it in portrait and the previous attempt cutting out the person in the background killed it for me. Lowering the saturation to take attention away from the flower bed (intentional or not) was a good move.

And of course the light patterns on the sidewalk, interesting to look at while your eye is being led up the path.

Yes! but a bit of color left in the grass and flowers, rather than going all the way to monotone, keeps it a bit more interesting as well.

This group has some great observations and suggestions!

It might well be possible, but i wasn't able to get one I liked better than the faded greens and flowers.

I have pondered similar too. Guess simplifying the image could help. Hope you don't mind, this is my suggested result using your image. I used lens correction in PS to simplify the image. Love to hear from others too.
Cool. Good eye.
