Light in the marsh
Lens: DA21 Ltd Camera: K-30 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/20s Aperture: F5.6

I have taken this shot this morning during a walk not too far from home.
I discovered this little marsh in the wood and thought that the conditions seemed interesting with the steam from the water and the ray of light illuminating the fallen log.
I shot it hand-held, with the polariser, not too low, to keep some separation between the log and the tufts of grass emerging from the water.
In post production I warmed it up and emphasized the light on the subject trying to transmit the feelings I felt on location while shooting it.

Maybe it's not an interesting enough subject?
Too heavy post-production?

I thin you nailed not only te light of the moment, but also the mood of the place.
I donīt feel it is overproduced during edition.

It might have been, except that as Peter has noted

By capturing that lighting, you took an ordinary scene and made it something special.

It's really magical! Perhaps my only thing is a tad saturated. I'd use an HSL adjustment and tone down the deep oranges/near reds and a touch less overall, but only a touch. This would accent the beam of light a bit more even I think, as the dying leaves would demand less attention.
I'd also add, crop it a bit to put that curved branch in the centre of the light beam a little closer to the top right third. Really magical moment!

Thanks for your feedback.
Yes, it's more saturated compare to what I usually do, I always try to keep colors as natural as possible, but this time I've decided to experiment a bit
Nice suggestion with the crop, I'll try it. Also, I want to eliminate as much sky as possible because I find it a little too much distracting.

I like the image more than anything for the place.

It seems as if at any moment some monster is going to sprout from there, be it fictional or natural. They already know The Swamp Thing or a crocodile.

Beautiful scenery.
The fog in combination with the sun has a little glaring effect in the centre, but everything you could do to reduce that would also reduce the impact of the fog on the atmosphere of the image, therefore I would leave it as it is.

Well, in that case, I think that a Pentax camera would be sturdy enough to push back any beast where it came from

Thanks, I'll try to correct that

You don’t have to correct anything. The point is, you nailed the story. PP should be communicating the feeling , first of all. I love the outcome.
