I would crop a bit of the top and right.

Why does it say Nikon D5300 when I mouse over the image but you say it is a 645?

I also think cropping a bit from the right would help (having the group of trees truly centered), but I find the structure in the sky more interesting then the foreground.
So I would probably crop some of the foreground which does not add much to the shot in my opinion.

yes, that's strange ... and in the exif it says "Lens ID AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR". But I have had strange things happen to some of my scans also ...

Straightforward would be that is was "scanned" by photographing the positive. The combination of the trees and whatever is blowing behind them (fog over water?) is magical. Great work on the tonal scale - I'm sure this digital mock-up doesn't do the actual print justice.

Thanks for your comments. My usual print size for landscape is 11"x14", which is too big for the scanner I have.
Most of the "scans" I post are photos I take of the final prints. The photo was taken with a Pentax 67II but the
image posted is a digital version taken with a Nikon D5300.

The white whatever blowing in the background is salt. Ngorongoro has a salt pan that is completely dry during
these months. @JensE You are right. The digital version can not reflect the pallette and shades of gray of paper

Like some others, I would tend to crop - but I'd crop in from both top and bottom - very envious of being there to take this shot

I really like the image. I would consider cropping a generous portion of the foreground
