Works well in B&W, but I can't help feeling it may work even better as a color image. With it being somewhat heavy in highlights the subtle color changes in the foreground foliage will make more of an impact IMO.

So cool you have the opportunity to visit locations like this!

An interesting image. It reminds me that there are lots of "strange" (to me) places to see in the world. I would like to see the full colour version too.

Senecio are members of the sunflower family, that grow in surface water runoffs at high altitude.
These grow at 4,000 m (12,000 ft) above sea level. To absorb radiation and reduce heat loss,
they are completely pubescent, covered in silver hair. This image was taken during a very foggy
day. I wanted to give a clear idea of the cold and humid weather, and still show the bright silver
gloss of these plants.
Im attaching a color image I took the same day with a fisheye, so you can see what it looks like
in color

I do believe I prefer it in color. The B&W doesn't make the detail in the leaves as obvious. But I like the first version too.

Thank you for your comments ! Personally I am not a big fan of color photography or digital.
I use it because it is practical, has a short learning curve and I sell some material for different
publications. I rarely hang a color image on the wall, because after a month, tops, Im already
bored of it. Thats why calendars are so popular. After four weeks you get to change the photo.
In Black & White, what I enjoy is that I have to create an interpretation of what Im photographing,
which I find more entertaining than a literal depiction of the scene
