Portraits... potentially for a calendar

I've been working on a little side project for a student org in AZ and was wondering if i could get some critiques as well ideas for other poses/shots.

These may go into a calendar for fundraising and I've only shot 1/3 of the models thus far and would love more input on what i could've improve on when working with the next set of girls. I havent pp'd these much besides the de-saturation. These were all shot with the K10 and the DA*50-135mm.

Fine shots, good technique, light model etc. Did you use natural light? The light is fantastic!! The desaturation works good in this series!!!
litle things I wood change.
Pictures 1 is exellent exept for the black shadow comming out off the girls head. Coud be changed in hoto shop.
5,6,7 I like most because there is less on the picture (less in the background)
In picture 8 detail is lost in the white parts.

Pict 7 is my favorite.

Thanks for the comments! I did use natural light (or in the case of shot #7, it was just a sidewalk lamp) for all the shots.

The 1st pic, I see how the shadow may be distracting I'll probably touch that up a bit. It was actually a reflection of a tree on the lake behind her!

You've got some great portraits there. I think my favs are #1 and #7. The thing that jumped out at me is that these are mostly verticals. If you're planning on doing a traditional layout calendar, you're going to need horizontals.

These are fantastic images. You don't need any help from me. You have a style that incorporates the natural light and surroundings with the inner beauty of your subjects.

Wow, I don't I'm qualified to judge these as I've done nothing comparable. To me, my only critique would be there is to much space above the models in pic3 and pic9. Especially 3 with the white sky.
I agree with Geyst about the shadow in pic1, after you photoshop that out it will be a stunning portrait, I'm in love with that girl! And pic6, I love that shot.
Great work, thanks for sharing.
