Some of that Blue Ridge magic
Lens: DA* 55mm Camera: K20D ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F11

At first I was a bit disappointed, but I think I like the flare. Thoughts? Any and all comments welcome!

Like this! Colours and layering of background ranges.

I like lens flare on a shot like this. These ones seem a little large but like you, I go between liking them and then not so much. I really like the mood of this image.

Could'nt have put in better words, indeed. It almost like someone froze the frame in a Tolkin movie.

Honestly, the the two big cotton balls (that's what comes to my mind) are distracting. A shame, really, because otherwise the picture is oustanding.

I wonder if it would have been a little better moving a bit more to the left and if possible forward a bit. If the sun was a little more out of the frame I think the flare wouldn't have been quite as much. I will say as well that I find the pines in the middle more distracting than the flare and so figuring out how to frame them lower in the image would have been nice.

It looks like it was beautiful light and obviously a lovely photo spot.

I like a good sun flare but this is a bit too much. Also, the white of the sun is blown out. I LOVE the tones in the

Sun Flares are like the Forrest Gump line, "Life's like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get". Each one is different, and you can't always predict the final outcome. That said, looks good to me.

A rounder flare would look more appealing but it still works for me. It goes well with the rays in the distance.

I actually like the flares, they are a bit large, but I fell they fit well in the scene. The color grading is just beautiful

I think the flares are too much personally. The right hand third on it's own is a better composition for me.

The flares are a little on the big side, but I don't mind them actually. I like the processing too.
What bothers me more are the somewhat higer trees in the middle. They feel to me like a separation of the image in two rather unconnected parts

The flares kind of work with the lighting and mood, but I think the picture image would be improved with less flare.
