I like it, but maybe it could have used a slightly deeper DOF, to keep the entire front of the face (including chin) in focus?

I think you'd lose a bit of the feeling of depth/3-dimensionality by doing so, as the tongue really pops out the way it is now.

I think the DOF is fine.
I just find that the picture is missing something, I just cant tell what.

Not a bad shot. I think DOF is fine and is what gives it character. I think think this is missing something to tell a bit more of a story. I like how it provokes different sensations but I almost feel like I shouldnt be looking at it. Interesting shot none the less
