Mushrooms

As the mushroom season is drawing to a close, there are still some lovely samples to be found. taken with the K10D 18 - 55 kit lens.

Thanks in advance for any comments

I like these immensely; very dramatic, great color, depth...

no recommendation whatsoever

my brother used to collect these mushrooms, let them dry and paint scenes on them

Were the shot in situ and then post-processed to drop out the backgrounds, or physically brought into a lightbox etc?

I really like the first one. The lighting makes this look very mysterious. Thanks for sharing them.

Very artistic pics! Excellent work from a photographer's standpoint and hurrray for the kit lens. It defenitely has it uses and you don't have to own expensive glass to create great images. Now if I could just get over my own LBA........

That first one is excellent. I like how it's isolated from any other distracting elements and the shadows created from the light source.

The images were both in situ. One of the best things about the winter in the woodlands is is quite poor lighting, so getting in close and using the flash tends to knock out most of the background naturally. They have then both been processed in photoshop just to tidy up the edges and make the backgrounds totally closed out.

As i post more images you will see this is a style i definately favor!!!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.
