Chimp in the glow
Lens: Sigma 16.6 Camera: Sigma DP1 Photo Location: Lancaster UK ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F4

I've become enthralled with night shooting, in particular for the specular quality of the light and the challenge of capturing a moment without a tripod. I will, as always, appreciate critiques and pointers to improve.

Did you break into an antique store at night?

Interesting image. Does the chimp have a practical purpose, like as part of a bowl or jug?

This is an excellent question! I'll have to check in the shop during the day time- I think it was simply an ornament...possibly cursed.

Were you allowed in the shop? (Not shot through a storefront window)

Very nice. Hope to improve my night time shots.

No, the store closes around 16:30, this was at 22:00 and through curved storefront window glass- I've been impressed how often the extra layer of glass rarely impacts the shot, especially at night.

It would be cool to see some of your night shots ☺️.
